MED is a World Music festival that has established itself as a European reference, with a distinctive concept and a strong identity that has allowed it to achieve high levels of international notoriety. Every year, at the end of June, the Historic Zone of Loulé is invaded by sounds from various parts of the world, as well as by colours, flavours and smells that reflect the cultural diversity that is the hallmark of the event. In addition to a musical line-up that brings to Portugal the best names in the so-called world music industry, this festival also features a fusion of cultural events ranging from gastronomy to visual arts, street entertainment, crafts, dance, theatre, cinema, poetry, workshops and much more, with the clear aim of promoting interculturality and promoting unity between peoples and tolerance.
